## The length rule — complete, and it is not a cycle of 7/8/9 by position

It looks at first like the lengths simply repeat 7, 8, 9. They do, but that is a
consequence, not the rule. Line the lengths up against the **quality** of each
sign and the rule is exact:

movable (chara) Ar Cn Li Cp -> 7 years
fixed (sthira) Ta Le Sc Aq -> 8 years
dual (dwisvabhava) Ge Vi Sg Pi -> 9 years

All twelve rows obey it. The 7/8/9 repetition appears only because the qualities
themselves repeat every three signs in zodiacal order; a dasha running in the
reverse direction, or starting elsewhere, would show 9, 8, 7 or another order,
and reading the rule as "repeat 7, 8, 9" would then be wrong in a way no
structural test would catch.

This is the same lesson as Sree lagna, in a smaller key: the observable pattern
and the actual rule coincide here, and would part company on the next chart.

## Direction

Zodiacal, from Libra. Libra is the **second** from the Virgo lagna — a maraka
house, which fits a dasha named for death (niryaana).

One chart fixes the length rule completely, because all twelve qualities appear
in it. It does **not** fix the direction rule, which in the Shoola family
normally depends on the odd/even character of the starting sign. A second chart
with an even starting sign settles it, and until it does the direction stays an
option in the payload rather than a hard-coded zodiacal march.
